Why Horses?
Horses are extremely sensitive and intuitive. They give you immediate feedback as to what you are doing and how you are doing it. Accomplishing a task requires focus, creativity, and cooperation. Through both successes and failures, each individual becomes aware of his/her own strengths and weaknesses. Group dynamics will play out as your team works together to accomplish a task.
Equine assisted learning (EAL) is often used in place of traditional team building methods simply because of its effectiveness. It is considered a hands-on experiential approach to learning that has been highly effective with young people. As you know, there is a kid in all of us!!!
Using horses as facilitators will increase the likelihood that everyone will participate in the activities. Horses do not care about status, titles or position. They are not impressed with clothes or fancy talk. Because horses are extremely perceptive, they respond honestly to offer you opportunities to grwo in confidence and awareness. They encourage you to explore your interpersonal relationships so that each person learns how to contribute to the team in the moset effective way possible.
By facing challenges, your team will learn how to communicate in an open and honest environment where successful problem-solving skills can be shared and utilized within the workplace.
